::HOB Sunset, My Yelp Review::
My BF, some friends and I went to HOB on Sunset last night to see Strung Out.
I had probably the worse experence I have had here, so while Yelping I got the idea to post it here.
BTW Strung Out was awesome, what I got to see at least.
“Every time I enter this venue I HAVE to remind myself why I paid money to go there. And the answer in the bands. HOB house some of the best rock/punk bands that play on the Sunset Strip.
However HOB is also known to over serve their crowds which leads to people vomiting in corners, starting fights for no reason, and falling over on me. The bouncers run around like they are making a difference when in all actuality I think they are the source of the problems. Just over paid fat guys that stand in the corner and run into the crowd and push people out of the way every 10 minutes.
I ate dinner there last night the entire menu changed. No calamari and someone how they were unable to make a quesadilla. To make matters worse I got sick, ended up throwing up in the bathroom and had to leave early. Do not waste your money on the food, its over priced and will probably make you vomit. Keep in mind if you are brave enough to eat here, get a table and a waiter. DO NOT even try sitting in the bar area unless you are at the bar. The service is horrible. We sat there for 15 minutes and no one even came up to us. I suppose the employees at the HOB are not to concerned with their tip money.
Now the sound at this venue is amazing, loud and amazing. Always bring ear plugs unless you plan on being deaf at age 40. NEVER drink mixed drinks, unless you are at the “restaurant bar,” once you smell the inside of HOB you will know why.
It has been rumored that HOB is getting shut down for it excessive violence and lack of changes.I do not recommend this place to anyone, unless a kick ass band is playing there. Beware if you it is a band that is likely to have a mosh pit. It will not be a real mosh pit at the HOB. It will be filled with underage pre pubescent little boys hitting each other in the face and throwing beer on each other.
The only cool thing I can think about this place is, the last couple times I have been there, they have made you tickets for Saturday night good on Sunday night. Oh and if you are sly enough sneak up to the 3rd floor, this really only works for ladies wait HOT ladies. The Foundation Room is really nice with a higher class of patrons. This is their VIP area so do not expect to get in if you look like you just rolled out of a trailer.The only place to really park is valet or one of the lots on Sunset either way you are looking at $20 on the weekend. I recommend the valet just because its close and they are pretty quick with the cars.
Do not bring your camera because you cannot take it inside. I know stupid since almost ever phone has a camera and a video recorder, but its the rule. And you will get searched on your way in. You cannot hide it in your bra either ladies.”
