::Cutting Back Mail Delivery::

A simple part of life we probably all take for granted but would be unable to live without, snail mail. Although much of our society functions solely using the internet there are still important documents the only come in the old fashioned mail.
With the economic crisis getting worse by the day the United States Government is contemplating cutting out one day of mail delivery per week.
The United States Postal Service is the second largest government agency. That would mean thousands of employees loosing hours of pay each week or even worse loosing their jobs all together.
Faced with dwindling mail volume and rising costs, the post office was $2.8 billion in the red last year and, “if current trends continue, we could experience a net loss of $6 billion or more this fiscal year. Total mail volume was 202 billion items last year, more than 9 billion less than the year before, the largest single volume drop in history.
