::Goals For 2009::

Submitted by Jeana on Monday, 19 January 2009No Comments

I have never been big on New Years resolutions.
I feel that most of us make resolutions and do not follow through, which just leads to disappointment down the road.
However 2009 is a different year, for me at least.
For one I just turned 25 and feel it is imperative for me to take steps away from partying and towards being an adult.
Second 2008 was probably the most trying year of my life. I have endured plenty through out my 25 years, but this past year was the most difficult by far.
I have no one to blame but myself. With that being said I am determined to make 2009 a year of great accomplishments.

Being anti new years resolution I refused to start my goals on January 1st. I wanted to take time and really think about goals that I can achieve and will stay focused on throughout the year. Each goal has a special meaning in my life and I believe will enable me to become a better person, one step at a time.

1-I want to visit a new country this year.
2-Have date night once a week with my BF.
3-Go to the gym at least 3 times a week.
4-Get a pool workout in everyday.
5-Start swimming in meets again and achieve my PR times.
6-Take and post one picture everyday that made me smile. I recently went through my photo album and realized there were months that went by that I did not take one photo. That needs to change.
7-Get “A”s in all my classes for spring and fall semesters.
8-Take time out of my day to help someone else.
9-Volunteer more of my free time.
10-Spend less time in a tanning bed and more time in the real sun.

I believe these are simple goals to achieve. It will just take discipline and time management. Through hard work I know I will become a better and more successful person, and in the end a happier person as well.
