I am taking this online philosophy class. The course is actually entitled, Philosophical Problems. I love philosophy because it makes people think outside their comfort zones and it gives me a chance to argue. 
We had our first chat tonight and one of the questions was,
Is it possible that there is no material world and what we are experiencing is a dream?
Everyone was saying that life is real because we experience death. And I said, what if we are dreaming and “death” is just us waking up?
And one girl replies by saying,
Why dont you kill yourself and find out?
I mean seriously? That is all she has to contribute to the class? I think she needs to spend more time reading the required text and stop being so close minded.
Everyone said she was rude, but I said she was just ignorant.
It was a fifth grade come back in a upper division college class.
I never want to come across as I believe I am right, I just have an open mind to all opinions.
It made me laugh and I thought I would share!
