However I have been blessed with an amazingly cynical attitude most do not have.
Therefore these young teens are getting suckered into meeting people in person and basing their self worth upon what strangers say to them.
The most unfortunate side affect of the internet is how easy it is for these pervert to access the innocent.

More than 2,100 registered North Carolina sex offenders were found on the social networking site MySpace, the state attorney general’s office said Tuesday.
MySpace turned over the names, IP and e-mail addresses of 2,116 convicted North Carolina sex offenders found on its social networking Web site.

Sex offenders on social networking sites is not a new issue. Last month, Newsweek magazine reported that Facebook said it had removed 5,585 convicted sex offenders from its site between May 2008 and January 2009. MySpace also announced it had removed 90,000 sex offenders in a two-year period, the magazine said.

After discussions with the group, MySpace became the first social networking site to develop technology aimed at finding and removing sex offenders, the North Carolina statement said. Cooper is pushing Facebook to take similar steps.

Read the full story at, <a

In that moment, he either loves you back or he doesn’t — you only hear the black or white of a ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ not the gray of “Well, I like you a whole lot and I could see myself falling in love with you, but I’m just not quite there yet.”
And the truth is, it often takes men longer to get there than it does for women. Men process their emotions more slowly, they’re usually more cautious about taking their feelings and relationships to the next level.
I guess my advice to my future daughter would be this: “If you love a man and want to have a long relationship with him, give him time to get there. If you think you’ve given him enough time and you’re ready to move on if he doesn’t feel the same way for you, then go ahead and tell him you love him. But only say those words if you’re prepared to let him go.”

<img

This rain is a very welcomed forecast.
This storm has been causing a little holiday stress.
The area of Yorba Linda which was burned last month has mandatory evacuations.
There is snow fall in parts of So-Cal that snow does not normally fall, causing an increase accidents.
All this along with flash flood warnings through out the So-Cal region.
However, other parts of the country people are enduring far worse side effects of this storm.
On the east coast almost 400,000 people are still without any power.
Ranging from New York to New Hampshire.

That’s down from 800,000 Sunday evening and more than a million at the height of the storm.
In Stoddard, New Hampshire, National Guard troops were going door to door to check on residents.

-Columbine shootings back in 1999. With that incredible tragedy came some incredible knowledge. Parents and students alike are more aware of those who occupy our schools. It was such parental vigilance that caught fifteen year old Richard Yanis in his tracks.
The fifteen year old stole Pennsylvania teen stole three guns from his fathers secure gun safe.
Once his father noticed the guns missing he reported it to the local police, thankfully.
With some good old fashion police investigation the guns were located and the true story reviled.
The troubled teen had planed on taking the guns and additional ammunition to school after the new year and shooting those he did not like before shooting himself.

Richard Yanis gave the guns and ammunition to an unnamed friend from school and asked him to “hold onto it,” the statement said. The friend allegedly showed his stepmother the guns, and the two drove to a nearby creek where they tossed in the weapons.
“He was going to go into the school shooting, shoot everyone he did not like, and then himself.”

-CNN.com

I cannot say I am shocked a fifteen year old boy stole his dads guns, what I am disgusted about is that a grown woman threw gun into a creek!
I mean seriously is she that stupid!?!
All police stations take guns without questions, maybe if she had done the right thing this would have been solved a little sooner.
We can all be thankful that none of the students were actually harmed.
However Richard Yanis will be tried as an adult for his crimes of attempted murder.
Now an ever bigger problem faces college students.
Even if you do get accepted paying for college is not an easy ride!
Most parents planned a college fund in the form of the stock market. However with the market plummeting everyday there is no money to pay for a higher education.
Most lower and middle class families need to re-evaluate their plans.
Unfortunately getting good grades in high school is no longer enough.

“College tuition continues to outpace family income and the price of other necessities, such as medical care, food and housing,” the center said. College tuition and fees, adjusted for inflation, rose 439 percent from 1982 to 2007, towering over increases in medical care, housing and food, according to the report. Median family income rose 147 percent during the same period, the report said.
“The nation’s colleges and universities have become less affordable for students and their families since the early 1990s,” it said. “This year continues the trend in deteriorating college affordability in the majority of states.

Check out the full story at <a

It is “quite common” for pirates to target ships the size of the Nautica and even larger, he said, but they tend to be cargo ships, not passenger vessels.
The Nautica escaped without damage or injury to its 684 passengers and 400 crew, and arrived safely on schedule in Salalah, Oman early on Monday morning, Rubacky said.
Quick summary; a mom, Lori Drew, created a fake MySpace page. Sent cruel messages to one of her daughter’s x-friends, Megan Meier. The young girl, 13 years old, that the mom was harassing ends up hanging herself.
Now the jury in this super bizarre case might not be told that Megan Meier killed herself.

I do not necessarily believe that horrible MySpace messages drove a teenage girl to kill herself.
However the mom should, and the key word being SHOULD, be more mature than a teenager and let whatever happened between the two girls remain between the two girls. I do think any “mother” that would do this to an already sensitive child should be punished. It is simply unacceptable in my book.

Check out the full story at <a
