However I have been blessed with an amazingly cynical attitude most do not have.
Therefore these young teens are getting suckered into meeting people in person and basing their self worth upon what strangers say to them.
The most unfortunate side affect of the internet is how easy it is for these pervert to access the innocent.

More than 2,100 registered North Carolina sex offenders were found on the social networking site MySpace, the state attorney general’s office said Tuesday.
MySpace turned over the names, IP and e-mail addresses of 2,116 convicted North Carolina sex offenders found on its social networking Web site.

Sex offenders on social networking sites is not a new issue. Last month, Newsweek magazine reported that Facebook said it had removed 5,585 convicted sex offenders from its site between May 2008 and January 2009. MySpace also announced it had removed 90,000 sex offenders in a two-year period, the magazine said.

After discussions with the group, MySpace became the first social networking site to develop technology aimed at finding and removing sex offenders, the North Carolina statement said. Cooper is pushing Facebook to take similar steps.

Read the full story at, <a

Granted, rock guys covering urban jams is a trick that some times works (see: Will Oldham’s delirious, faithful takes on R. Kelly favor ites), but just as often cheapens and disre spects the original (see: Dynamite Hack’s egre gious slacker-brah version of N.W.A’s ”Boyz-N-The Hood”). Framing Hanley? Not worth the Claire’s boutique lip rings they rode in on.

My comment on EW site,

I think this is a biased and completely untrue observation.
However it one mans opinion and obviously based on Framing Hanley myspace plays not everyone agrees. Furthermore look at the comments of fans protesting against this one mans sheltered opinion.
Maybe in he got his head out Lil Wayne’s ass he would be able to see that great music comes in all genres.
jeanaarter.com

Honestly, Entertainment Weekly is a glorified blog space for those who have no better calling in life than to criticize other people.
I personally enjoyed both versions of the song and still listen to both. It is a matter of person music preference and to diminish a bands talent purely based upon one’s personal music choice is not journalism, its more like lack of experience in the real world.
It is obvious to anyone with the internet and half a brain that not all of the world hated Framing Hanley’s version of Lollipop. Their MySpace player has almost 9 million hits alone.
Seriously this site rated The Dark Knight and only the thrid best movie of the year.
I believe to be a good or even mediocre journalist one must take into account the facts about what one is reporting. Entertainment Weekly is saying these rankings are based upon viewer/listener opinions as well as staff opinion and yet have provided no proof.
The other thing to remember if there actually was a viewer/listener poll, most people that listen to rock are not caught up in Entertainment Weekly, therefore would not know to participate in the polls.

I get annoyed when idiots are put in position of power and are able to reach people in mass quantities and yet have nothing better than their opinion as support.
MySpace page to bully her daughters ex friend. The young 13 year old later committed suicide after reading message she thought were from a boy but were really from a middle aged woman.

The federal jury could not reach a verdict on the main charge against 49-year-old Lori Drew — conspiracy — and rejected three other felony counts of accessing computers without authorization to inflict emotional harm.
Instead, the panel found Drew guilty of three misdemeanor offenses of accessing computers without authorization. Each count is punishable by up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine. Drew could have gotten 20 years if convicted of the four original charges.
Tina Meier, the mother of the dead girl, said Drew deserves the maximum of three years behind bars. “It’s not about vengeance; it’s about justice,” she said.

It is a sad day when a mother takes revenge on a teenage girl. I hope the prosecutors retry Drew so that she can spend more than 3 years behind bars and think about what she did. Moreover I do not believe Drew is responsible to raise her own child once all the dust has settles. Drew has neglected to teach her daughter any substantial values, instead Drew’s daughter has learned when bullied, bully back.

Check out the full story; @ Quick summary; a mom, Lori Drew, created a fake MySpace page. Sent cruel messages to one of her daughter’s x-friends, Megan Meier. The young girl, 13 years old, that the mom was harassing ends up hanging herself.
Now the jury in this super bizarre case might not be told that Megan Meier killed herself.

I do not necessarily believe that horrible MySpace messages drove a teenage girl to kill herself.
However the mom should, and the key word being SHOULD, be more mature than a teenager and let whatever happened between the two girls remain between the two girls. I do think any “mother” that would do this to an already sensitive child should be punished. It is simply unacceptable in my book.

Check out the full story at All these abbreviations have made correct spelling obsolete.

I find it nauseating that even with spell check people continually miss spell simple words such as; a lot.
It is two different words people.
We are talking 3rd grade spelling now.
The best one I saw was one MySpace.
Someone I know filled out a survey and one question asked; “What do you look for in the opposite sex?”
His answer, intelligince

Wait really?
They look for intelligence in women, yet cannot even spell it with spell check!

I understand we all type fast and at times it would be an typo, however this is why our computers are equipped with spell and grammar check.
Set your computer to underline miss spelled words and grammar errors to prevent yourselves from looking like a complete jackass.
<img
